![]() A not so happy typer... We welcome new writers. If you have an idea for a feature or an interview, send us an e-mail and we will let you know if it's appropriate for our magazine and answer any questions you might have about size and tone. We are also happy to publish relevant short stories. It's generally best not to write something from scratch without getting in touch first, as it could turn out to be a waste of your time (we may have covered that topic already or not think it suitable for "Happy Mind"). But if you have already written a piece, then feel free to send the complete work, accompanied by a brief description. We will consider material which has been published elsewhere, as long as copyright is still with the author (please check and let us know, so we can acknowledge the place of first publication). Unfortunately, we don't have the resources to pay contributors, but we can provide a link to your website, if you wish, or include your contact details. Copyright remains with you, so you can publish your piece again elsewhere. Regarding size and tone, the editor will be able to give you more details if necessary, but we are generally looking for about 1,000 words features and interviews and 500 words reviews. They should be accessible to people who are not experts in the relevant fields, but don't be shy to treat the issue with the level of depth it deserves - we are not looking for sensational pieces! We welcome witty, playful writing, but also pieces written in a more academic style (as long as they are clear and technical terms are explained). We aim to answer every genuine pitch or query, so get in touch and good luck! |
